Head's Welcome

Welcome to The Rowans School website.  I hope it gives you a sense of our school and reflects the warm, family environment which is enjoyed by children, parents and staff at The Rowans.

The Rowans School seeks to provide a broad curriculum in which all pupils can develop a love of learning and reach a high standard according to their ability. This is done within a stimulating, creative, happy, caring and respectful environment where pupils are encouraged and motivated to try new challenges to reach their potential.

We want to make the most of a child’s time with us and it is important that each child leaves with a grasp of core skills, concepts and knowledge as well as a self-respect and self-confidence.

Our aims are:

  • To enable each child to achieve in all areas of learning by providing challenging and inspiring teaching;
  • To nurture the well-being of each child and enhance a love of learning, achieving high standards of learning;
  • To develop independent, confident, enthusiastic learners in a safe, supportive and enriching environment;
  • To acquire life skills and a social awareness of others which will enable each child to give the best of themselves;
  • To offer a broad and stimulating curriculum including trips, visitors a variety of extra-curricular activities.
